研究方向
- 1、长期坚持谷子资源研究,建立了国内外首个狗尾草属种质基因库:长期坚持从世界各地搜集狗尾草属材料及谷子近缘野生资源,现掌握涉及22个种的狗尾草属野生资源1508份;在完成资源种性鉴定的基础上,利用分子标记和传统方法相结合的方法,分析了狗尾草属不同种之间的系统进化关系,发现并命名了狗尾草属C、D、E和F基因组,奠定了这些野生资源系统进化分析和科学利用的基础。
2、理清了谷子野生资源、农家品种和育成品种的基因组变异本底:在野生种青狗尾草、农家品种和育成品种三个层次构建了覆盖全世界的核心种质,并在SSR变异分析的基础上,完成了916份材料的重测序构建,构建了国内外首个谷子单倍型图谱,开发谷子SNP标记245万个,首次从基因组变异的水平理清了春夏谷的分类,纠正了多个谷子品种类型和地理分布的模糊认识,奠定了谷子资源科学利用的分子基础。
3、构建了基本完善的谷子功能基因组研究平台:十多年来,从谷子的SSR标记开发开始,完成了SNP标记开发,构建了关联分析群体和多个连锁分析RIL群体,完成了关联群体多环境表型数据库建立,发掘谷子47个植物学和农艺性状的QTL位点560个,构建了由4万多个家系组成的EMS突变体库,并联合国家农作物转基因中心构建了高效的谷子遗传转化和基因组标记技术体系,使得谷子功能基因研究平台基本成熟。
4、发起并启动谷子成为C4光合作用及禾本科功能基因研究的模式植物:发起并积极推动谷子和野生种青狗尾草成为C4光合作用和禾本科属亚科的功能基因组研究的模式作物,并主持组织了首届国际谷子遗传学会议,参加组织了第二届国际谷子遗传学会议,对谷子在功能基因组研究中日益高涨的国际国内关注做出了贡献。
5、培育出“中谷1”、“中谷2”和“两优中谷5”等产业开发型谷子新品种和杂交种:以轻简栽培为育种方向,提出了中秆型相对紧凑株型育种目标,培育“中谷1”、“中谷2”等多个国家一级优质米品种,在优质小米产业开发中起到了重要作用;根据春夏谷子分化的理论基础,提出春夏谷杂种优势利用的模式,利用春谷型的不育系和夏谷型的恢复系培育出了强优势的“两优中谷”系列品种,正在成为谷子生产的主栽品种。
